From ANINew Delhi, Dec 8(ANI): Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi today assured that the missing drought relief package allotted to Uttar Pradesh's Bundelkhand district would soon reach its final destination.

While addressing the audience after the meeting, Gandhi said that it was very sad to know that the money allocated for the welfare of the people didn't reach the masses.
"It is very sad to know that this money didn't reach the people it was intended for. And today you came to us and gave examples, you gave the necessary papers, which talked about goats, which talked about wells and the loss you all incurred, the profit that you deserved, but didn't reach you, it was discussed here by everyone," he said.
"It is good see that, it is just a step and everyone here listened to the grievances and whatever action that needs to be taken by the Central government from New Delhi, will be taken," he added.
The Congress General Secretary also informed that the deputy chief of Planning Commission, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, had also visited the district to identify the grass root reality and found out about the lack of government funds reaching the region.
"From the Planning Commission, Montekji also visited and witnessed what was happening in Bundelkhand. He visited the villages and he found out that the money under the designated package didn't reach the people," Gandhi added.
