Merchandisers cashing in on Anthony Weiner’s Twitter sexting scandal!

New York, June 14: In order to cash in on Anthony Weiner's Twitter scandal, a score of merchandise companies have captured the market with action hero figures, t-shirts, mugs and stickers of the New York Democrat.

Even before Weiner admitted sending racy photos across the Internet to different women, merchandise makers rushed to come up with the funny phrases for politically savvy keepsakes.

A toy company Herobuilders has introduced an Anthony Weiner action figure that comes in PG-13 and R-rated versions, costing 39.95 dollars.

The action figure features a buff looking doll in gym clothes with a "Tweet This" patch on its slightly bulging white bottoms.

Apart from the doll, T-shirts, bumper stickers and mugs featuring Weiner have also flooded the markets.

Marketplace website, has come out with dozens of Weiner-related merchandise like "Don't Tweet Your Meat" and "Team Weiner" T-shirts.

"When these sorts of political events happen and they turn into pop culture events, it means there's an army of sellers out there who jump on the opportunity to merchandise the event in clever or humorous way," the New York Daily News quoted Michael Karns, Zazzle's marketing director as saying.

Even dating websites have jumped on the opportunity to make money on the hottest gossip topic of the time.
