Obama's 2012 campaign making killing hawking 'born in the USA' t-shirts
New York, May 19: The Obama re-election campaign has apparently decided that if the "birthers" will never believe Obama was born in the U.S., it may as well play up the controversy and make some money off them.
The Obama 2012 team is selling T-shirts emblazoned with the President's face and a "Made in the USA" logo, reports the New York Daily News.
The back of the T-shirt, given to those who donate 25 dollars or more, depicts the commander in chief's long-form birth certificate.
"There's really no way to make this stuff up," deputy campaign manager Julianna Smoot wrote in an email to Obama supporters on Wednesday.
"The only thing we can do is laugh at it - and make sure as many people as possible are in on the joke," she wrote.
"Last year, the President said, 'I can't spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead.' This is about as close as we can get," she added.
