From ANIPatna, Apr 17(ANI): The Lion's Club organized a car rally in Patna on Sunday to showcase the development taking place in the region, and to generate funds for improving the lot of the underprivileged people.
Usha Jha, the club's president, said that the car rally is organized annually and raises funds for the weaker sections of the society, and has this time come up with the aim of highlighting Bihar's development.
"We are from Lion's Club and we organize this rally every year and the funds raised by this is being spent on weaker sections and underprivileged children, where ever it is needed, but this time, the purpose is to highlight the development projects of Bihar. Our Bihar is actually heading towards development but we want corruption free development," Jha said
She further said that the club also wants to spread awareness about corruption-free development.
Talking to media, Shalu Kapoor, a participant, said that she wanted to highlight the development, as Bihar is considered one of the most backward in the county.
"See this car rally is starting from Patna and will go till Rajgir. The main objective of the car rally is to show what kind of development is taking place in Bihar. As the rest of the country thinks that the state is extremely backward, we want to show that era is now a matter of past and the state is heading towards more prosperous times," Kapoor said
The car rally is an event with a difference as it saw women participating in large numbers.
