Mumbai's Lakme Fashion Week concludes
From ANIMumbai, Sep. 22: The week-long Lakme Fashion Week 2010 came to an end here yesterday, with fashion designers Neeta Lulla and Malini Ramani showcasing their exclusive collections.
Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Juhi Chawla, Rani Mukherjee and Tabu and director Vipul Shah participated in the show.
Bollywood actress Sridevi, the showstopper for Neeta Lulla's show sizzled the ramp wearing a silver gown.
Speaking to media persons Neeta Lulla said:
"You know my collection was completely based on colours which have been my strength on stitched saree, that I've invented, since you have seen many sarees which has been stitched but it is a very young and youthful look which is innate for girls between 25-35 years (of age) where its more focused on the destination weddings."
"Today, the young aged people want to wear clothes for bridal wear but something that's away from the norms of traditional look and this was specially aimed at destination weddings where you don't want to dressed up very heavy, in terms of the saree and stuff. It has to have spunk, it has to have sensuality," she added.
The five-day-long fashion extravaganza concluded with designer Malini Ramani, showcasing her Gypsy Collection.
"The first one (collection) is called mystery, then it was called bliss, cosmic and nirvana. I cannot say which country it is from, its from my own imagination and different things from different parts of the world, you know even driving to work, it popped in my head anytime.
