Blue Star Infotech to implement Microsoft dynamics NAV for snowman frozen foods ltd.
From ANIMumbai, Feb 4 (ANI/Business Wire India): Blue Star Infotech, a global provider of IT Solutions and Services to enterprises, announced today that it will be implementing Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 for Snowman Frozen Foods Limited.
Snowman Frozen Foods Ltd. is the first company to set up cold chain logistics services in India. They provide integrated logistics services and storage of goods on behalf of customers. The key concern areas were inventory tracking and warehouse management. Snowman has a fleet of temperature controlled large and small Vehicles. The large vehicles are used for long distance interstate transportation of perishable items. The smaller vehicles are primarily used for short distance transportation and distribution. Presently an excel-based system is used to manage the vehicles, routes, billing and profitability.
Blue Star Infotech will implement Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the core ERP for Snowman and also design, implement and integrate a Fleet Management Solution that will address all of Snowman's business needs; in addition it will provide new functionalities to automate key processes such as vehicle management and maintenance, capacity management, fuel management and route management.
Before zeroing down on Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Snowman reviewed all the popular ERPs in the market. In this process, they realized that their complex business model, which involved warehousing, transportation and distribution, warranted extensive customization. Hence, ease of customization became one of the key parameters for selection of an appropriate solution. Further, being a medium size company, budgetary constraints was also an area of concern. Navision addressed both these issues and solved their dilemma.
Mr. Ravi Kannan, CEO, Snowman Frozen Foods Ltd., said - "Once we were sure to go with Navision, deciding on the right implementing partner was our next concern. Having heard about the nightmarish experience of other ERP users, we did a reference check on the list of companies with a track record of implementing Navision. Domain experience, track record in meeting deadlines and reasonability as far as prices go, were other factors we were looking at before we concluded that Blue Star Infotech would be the right choice."
As per Satish Gaonkar, Vice President, Consulting Services Practice of BSI, "After a careful study of Snowman's core needs, we decided on an integrated solution using Microsoft Dynamics NAV as the core platform. The solution will enable Snowman to optimize their use of vehicles, capacities and routes resulting in cost saving and better profitability."
