Strengthening security in Maharashtra top priority: R R Patil
From ANIMumbai, Nov 9: Almost a year after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, State Home Minister R R Patil today said strengthening security to avert another attack of this magnitude would be his government's top priority.
Talking to reporters in Mumbai, Patil said, beefing up the security apparatus and improving coordination among the concerned agencies will top his agenda.
Patil said, coastal security is already being strengthened.
The first batch of Force One commandos; the elite force formed on the lines of National Security Guards is ready and will be operational soon, he added.
He said the government would also speed up the modernisation of the police force and strengthen the intelligence machinery.
The senior NCP leader had resigned after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and has now got back his portfolio.
