Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder 'to perform at Motown Record's 50th anniversary'
From ANILondon, November 08: Singing legends Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder may perform at the 50th anniversary celebrations of record label Motown.
Late in 1960, Franklin was offered a contract with Motown but she had chosen to affiliate with Columbia Records.
However, the "Queen of Soul" was still connected to Motown artists and record executives, reports the BBC News.
The gala event is also set to include tributes to Michael Jackson, Four Tops star Levi Stubbs, and labels founder Berry Gordy Jr.
Also, original Motown musicians including Smokey Robinson will be honoured.
The fund collected from the black tie concert will be forwarded to the Motown Historical Museum, located in the label's original headquarters.
