Forgotten Beatles song completed 40 years on
From ANILondon, Nov 3: A Beatles song begun by George Harrison 40 years ago has finally been completed.
Harrison wrote the first ten lines of the track called Silence (Is Its Own Reply) on a piece of scrap paper in the 1960s but never finished the lyrics.
It lay dumped at the Abbey Road studios before being handed over to author Hunter Davies for a 1968 official biography of the Fab Four.
Finally, BBC Radio Merseyside host Spencer Leigh asked lyricist Dean Johnson to complete the number.
At first the lyrics of the song were believed to be about love but it seems that they words now depict the uneasy relationship between John Lennon and Harrison.I'm happy to say it's only a dream, When I come across people like you, It's only a dream and you make it obscene," the Sun quoted a part of the lyrics, as saying.
Songwriter Johnson said: "The words were brutally honest and George was obviously writing from the heart.... I tried my best o get into the mind of someone in his position."
