Navin Patnaik seeks Central support to check Maoists in Orissa
From ANIBhubaneswar, June 26: Orissa Chief Minister Navin Patnaik has said that he will discuss with Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram about the state's needs to check Maoists activities.
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Patnaik said, "We are going to have detailed discussion on matters relating to Naxalism in our state and other related subjects."
He said that the state would place the many demands that we require very urgently."
Chidambaram, who is in Orissa had reviewed situation in Naxal-hit Koraput and visited some security establishments there on Thursday.
He visited the police armoury at the district headquarter town of Koraput. He also visited the anti-insurgency training centre of the State to get information regarding various skills being imparted there.
