CPI (M)'s central committee meeting to begin in Kolkata today
From ANIKolkata, Oct 12: The three-day central committee meeting of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) will begin here today to discuss strategy for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Issues like the financial crisis blowing across the world, the UPA Government's "failure" to get its act together in curbing terrorism and rising attacks on the churches in Orissa and Karnataka are also likely to figure during the meeting.
The UPA policies on economic front including the rise in the prices of essential commodities during its regime will also come up for discussions. The central committee will also finalise a document on the demands for restructuring Centre-state relations.
On Saturday, top CPI (M) and CPI leaders discussed the similar issues in New Delhi.
CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat met his CPI counterpart A B Bardhan and his party colleagues D Raja, S Sudhakar Reddy and Atul Kumar Anjaan.
