Zardari, Gilani meet, discuss counter-terrorism initiatives
From ANIIslamabad, Oct.11: pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani met on Saturday and reportedly discussed matters relating to law and order, the military operation against insurgents in tribal areas, the President’s scheduled visit to China and economic challenges being faced by the country.
They reiterated their pledge that no one would be allowed to challenge the writ of the government.
“The government will not be blackmailed by the terrorists and the scourge of terrorism will be uprooted,” the President and PM stressed.
They said emergency steps would be undertaken to overcome the prevailing economic crisis in the country.
President Zardari hoped that his upcoming visit to China will help promote trade cooperation between the two countries.
