Mills breaks promise to share £24.3m divorce payout with landmine charity
From ANILondon, Sept 8: Sir Paul McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills has broken her promise of sharing her 24.3 million pounds divorce windfall with her landmine charity. In May 2006 during her bitter court battle with the Beatles legend, the 40-year-old former model publicly vowed to hand over 'a large majority' of the cash she gained from her ex-husband.
Mills made the promise as the patron of the Adopt-A-Minefield charity in the hope of rescuing her shattered image.
Keeping the promise would have meant handing over at least 12,150,000 pounds to the fund, which helps clear mines from former warzones worldwide.
"They have waited in vain for their millions. She's had plenty of time but sadly it's yet another untruth by the queen of lies," the Sun quoted a source, as saying.
