Sources: Farina arrested for loaded gun LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- Actor Dennis Farina was being booked Sunday on felony weapons possession charges, the celebrity news Web site TMZ reported in Los Angeles.
Farina -- who appears in the Cameron Diaz-Ashton Kutcher romantic comedy "What Happens in Vegas" -- was arrested Sunday at Los Angeles International Airport, sources said.
The 64-year-old actor reportedly tried to take a loaded .22 caliber pistol through airport security in his carry-on luggage, but the weapon was discovered at a security checkpoint, TMZ.com said.
Farina told airport authorities he had put the gun in his luggage in Arizona, but forgot to remove it when he arrived at LAX, TMZ.com said.
Officers at the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific Division changed the booking from misdemeanor to felony after determining the gun was not registered, TMZ said. Prosecutors could eventually charge Farina with either a misdemeanor or felony.
Farina was being held on $25,000 bail.
