Woman charged in alleged car attack NASHUA, N.H., May 6 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire woman is facing charges she rammed her car into a group of people after an argument over the N.Y. Yankees and Boston Red Sox, authorities say.
Ivonne Hernandez, 43, of Nashua was ordered held without bail Monday in the early Friday incident that left Matthew Beaudoin, 29, dead and Maria Hughes, 21, injured, the Union Leader in Manchester reported Tuesday. She is charged with second-degree murder, aggravated driving while under the influence and two counts of reckless conduct.
Hernandez allegedly had gotten into an argument about the Yankees and Red Sox with Beaudoin and his friends at sports bar, then later drove her car, which has a Yankees sticker, at high speed into Beaudoin and Hughes in a parking lot, the newspaper said.
Hernandez allegedly told police she was upset about the argument over the baseball teams and wanted to scare the people she drove her car toward, but thought they'd get out of the way, the newspaper reported.
