'Baby Mama' is No. 1 LOS ANGELES, April 27 (UPI) -- "Saturday Night Live" alumni Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hit the big screen in U.S. theaters with the weekend's No. 1 movie, "Baby Mama."
The comedy pulled in an estimated $18.27 million in its first weekend, Box Office Mojo reported.
Another comedy, "Harold and Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay," written and directed by Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, debuted at No. 2 with an estimated $14.57 million in sales.
Last week's top movie, "The Forbidden Kingdom," slipped to No. 3 with $11.23 million in receipts, followed closely by "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" with $11.01 million.
Holding steady at No. 5 was "Nim's Island," with $4.53 million.
Next were "Prom Night (2008)," $4.4 million; "21," $4 million; "88 Minutes," $3.6 million; and "Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!," $2.41 million.
Another new offering, "Deception (2008), came at No. 10 with $2.23 million in estimated ticket sales. The sex thriller stars Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams.
Falling out of the top 10 were "Street Kings," "Leatherheads" and "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed."
