A child prodigy in Pune aspires to enter world records

From ANI

Pune, May 2: A child artist prodigy in Pune, who draws inspiration from Leonardo da Vinci's paintings, made a portrait just in 30 seconds, which has been sent for inclusion in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Haris Khan, the ten-year old artist, started painting at the early age of three. Inspired by stories about the life of Mahatma Gandhi, Haris made around one thousand portraits of him.

Presently studying in the fifth class, Haris has also made portraits of Subhash Chandra Bose, Mother Teresa, Balasaheb Thackeray and Bollywood actors Dilip Kumar and Aamir Khan.

The underlying inspiration in all his works has been Leonardo da Vinci.

"I like Leonardo da Vinci. He was a big artist. He used to make amazing paintings," said Haris.

Although Haris has no formal training in art, many well-known artists have appreciated his work.

"He has not had any training so far, not even for a single day. We approached his Principal of art school. He said that Haris did not require any training as his work is already almost of PhD standard," said Imtiyaj Khan, Haris's father.

Haris, who has many exhibitions to his credit, which have been acclaimed, now nurtures the dream of becoming world famous.
