Gujarat, the land of Gujjars has so much to offer - The history of Gujarat dates back to 2000 BC. It is also believed that Lord Krishna left Mathura to settle on the west coast of Saurashtra at Dwarka. Important cities include Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat. Visit the simple retreat of Sabarmati Ashram, the Satyagraha Ashram. There is in fact big list of destinations from a hitchhikers point of view in Gujarat. The Gir Forest and Somnath Temple being very important and must visit. Plan to visit during Navrathri time during October or Kite Festival during mid January and you will not be disappointed.
