Sienna Miller Biography
On December 28, 1981 in New York City, New York, U.S., Sienna Miller was born. She is a fashion designer, model and both a BAFTA and London Film Critics Circle Award nominated English actress who was born within the United States. This is because while she was born in the United States, as a child she moved to London, England with her family. At this point she began to attend Heathfield St. Mary's School. This was a boarding school that was located in Ascot, Berkshire. Later on she continued her studies at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City for a year. Here she studied with folks such as Will Lee and Konima Summer. She has actually remained close friends with both Will Lee and Konima Summer over the years.
Before going into acting, Miller worked as a model with Trady Anderson. While there she modeled for Coca-Cola, Italian Vogue, Prada and the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. Then in 2004 she had a style of fashion named after her: boho chic. However, it should not come as any surprise that Miller eventually went into acting. After all, Miller's mother, Josephine "Jo" Miller, was in charge of running Lee Strasberg's acting academy in London, England. Before this, Jo Miller worked as David Bowie's secretary. Miller actually began appearing in several amateur New York City plays while still working as a model. These included The Striker, Independence and Oscar-winning director Anthony Minghella's Cigarettes and Chocolate. From there she went on to have a recurring role on Keen Eddie, which was Simon West's television action drama that ran from 2003 through 2004. Then in 2005, Miller made her professional stage debut. She played the role of Celia in a West End production of Shakespeare's As You Like It.
