Rachel Bilson Biography

In Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. on August 25, 1981 Rachel Bilson was born. She is an American actress who grew up in a show business family. Her great-grandfather, George Bilson, worked as the head of the trailer department at PKO Pictures and her great-grandmother, Hattie Bilson, was a screenwriter. Bilson's grandfather, Bruce Bilson, was a film director. Then, when her parents divorced, her father married Heather Medway, who was an actress.

Unfortunately, none of this entertainment business rubbed off on her while she was a teenager. Instead, Bilson went through a rebellious period during which she was self-destructive. To this day she still has a scar above her right eye, suffers from migraines and memory loss. This reminds her of the car accident that she and a group of her brother's friends were in when she was only 13-years-old. Bilson claims that this was the turning point experience for her. It encouraged her to stop getting into trouble and thus going down the wrong road with her life.

Bilson graduated from Walter Reed Middle School in 1996, then from Notre Dame High School in 1999. While she was attending Notre Dame High School, Bilson appeared in the theatrical productions of Bye Bye Birdie, Once Upon a Mattress and The Crucible. It was also during this time that she appeared on stage together
with Katharine McPhee, who also attended Notre Dame High School and then went on to be a finalist on American Idol.

In 2003 Bilson made her television debut. Following this debut Bilson became well-known for her role as Summer Roberts on the prime time drama series entitled The O.C. However, it was not until 2006 that Bilson actually made her film debut. This was in the movie The Last Kiss. In 2008 she played a role in the thriller movie, which was entitled Jumper.
