Kylie Minogue's date of birth is May 28, 1968. She was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and today is a pop, dance-pop, Europop, Hi-NRG and Eurodance singer-songwriter, who also works as an actress and a fashion designer. The entertainment business runs throughout the family as her sister, Dannii, is also a pop singer and her brother, Brendan, works as a news cameraman in Australia. For her work, she has won an Australian Grammy and a BRIT award.
The beginning of Minogue's career was as a child on Australian television at the age of 12-years-old. She appeared in small roles in soap operas such as Skyways and The Sullivans, before being cast in a lead role on The Henderson Kids. Her first singing performance was in 1983 on the weekly music program, Young Talent Time. Unfortunately, her sister Dannii's regular role on this program was so successful that it overshadowed Kylie's achievements as an actress. Thankfully, this change in 1986 whenever she was cast in the soap opera Neighbours. Nevertheless, her popularity still went unforeseen until she became the first person to win four Logie Awards for one event. These included the “Gold Logie” for the country's "Most Popular Television Performer." So, it was thanks to her role on this soap opera that she was able to rise to prominence.
In 1987 Minogue began her her career as a pop artist. The following year, in 1988, she signed a contract with the British producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman. Through them she was able to achieve a worldwide string of hit records. However, it was not until the mid to late 1990s that she began taking her musical work seriously. It was at this point that she began working to establish herself as a credible, independent performer and songwriter.
