Born on June 1, 1973 in Bergisch Gladbach, North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany Heidi Klum is a German supermodel, actress, TV presenter, fashion designer, television producer and occasional singer. Heidi Klum is five feet 9.5 inches tall, measuring 35-24-34 and weighing 130 pounds. She has blond hair and hazel-colored eyes.

Heidi Klum says that in 1991 her friend, Karin, persuaded her to fill out a magazine coupon. In doing so, she enrolled in the national contest that was entitled “Model 92.” The chosen winners of this contest were shown on the Gottschalk Late Night Show. This was a top German television at that time, which was hosted by Thomas Gottschalk. It is similar to the late night television shows that are hosted by David Letterman and Jay Leno in the United States. There were more than 25,000 contestants in this contest. Nevertheless, Heidi Klum still managed to be voted the winner on April 29, 1992. As the winner, she was offered a modeling contract that was worth $300,000 (U.S.). A few months later, after graduating from school, Heidi Klum accepted the offer. It is interesting to note that she accepted this offer, while at the same time, turning down the opportunity to try for an apprentice position at a fashion design school.

Today Heidi Klum is working as the hostess on both Project Runway and Germany's Next Top Model. However, she is best known for the modeling work that she has done for Victoria's Secret.
