Evangeline Lilly Biography
Evangeline Lilly was born on August 3, 1979 in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada. Before she left the city of Fort Saskatchewan at the age of 10-years-old, she attended three different elementary schools: Fort Elementary, Rudolph Henning and James Mowat Elementary. Throughout her childhood Evangeline Lilly's family was devoutly Christian and they had no television set in their home. This is why it is so surprising that she grew up to be such a great actress. Another reason why this is so surprising is because Evangeline Lilly described her sister as being “the actor in the family.”
Originally, Evangeline Lilly did not set out to be an actress. She actually went to the Philippines at the age of 18-years-old. There she served as a foreign missionary and lived in a grass hut. Evangeline Lilly was offered a two year position working as a missionary in this country but due to her parents wishes, she declined. Instead she worked as a flight attendant for Air Canada for a while before deciding to give the acting field a try.
Whenever you stop to take all of these factors into consideration, you will find it amazing that Evangeline Lilly has actually gone on to become a Canadian Golden Globe-nominated actress. She is best known for her role as Katherine "Kate" Austen in ABC's hit drama Lost.
