Ellen Page Biography

Ellen Page was born on February 21, 1987 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. While growing up in this area, she attended the Halifax Grammar School until she was in tenth grade. During her childhood she enjoyed playing with action figures and climbing trees. After attending grammar school, Ellen Page then went on to graduate from the Shambhala School in 2005. From there, Ellen Page spent two years attending the Interact Program at Vaughan Road Academy in Toronto, Ontario.

While still at the Vaughan Road Academy in Toronto, Ellen Page landed a starring role in the film Hard Candy (2006). However, the role that she is best known for came a year later, in 2007. It was in this year that Ellen Page was in the movie Juno. Here in this movie she played the title character. For this role she received both Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for best actress.

Of course, over the years there have also been several other roles that Ellen Page has held. The main one being her role as Katherine “Kitty” Pryde in X-Men: The Last Stand. However, she has also received a great deal of attention in her home country of Canada for her award winning roles in the movies Pit Pony and Marion Bridge. Likewise, Ellen Page's home country has also given her a great deal of recognition for her roles in the television shows that she has played roles in, which include Trailer Park Boys and ReGenesis.

Already this year, in 2008, Ellen Page has been nominated for Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People list and she has also placed number sixty-eight on FHM's Sexiest Women In the World list. It looks as though 2008 is going to be a big year for this Academy Award-nominated Canadian actress.
