Christian Bale Biography
Christian Bale was born on January 30, 1974 in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. His sister Louise was active in theater while he took both ballet and guitar. This environment influenced Christian Bale's decision to become an actor.
In 1982 Christian Bale was in his first commercial, which was for Downey, at the age of 8-years-old. Then, a year later, Christian Bale appeared in a Pac-Man cereal commercial. In this commercial he played a child rock start. Christian Bale's first stage debut came in 1984 when he appeared in the musical Streetcar Named Desire, opposite of Rowan Atkinson. However, Christian Bale first caught the public's eye when he was cast in the starring role in Steven Spielberg's movie, Empire Of The Sun. Christian Bale was only 13-years-old whenever he landed this role. Since then, Christian Bale has portrayed a wide range of characters. To date, Christian Bale's film credits include Empire of the Sun, American Psycho, Equilibrium, The
Machinist, Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
Before Christian Bale found success in playing Batman, he was heavily involved in independent films. For this reason he is especially noted for his cult following, for which he has won numerous awards. However, he has also won numerous other awards as well. These awards include the Saturn Award and a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award.
