Chris Brown is an American born R&B, pop, dance-pop, crunk & B, hip hop and pop rap musician who works with the label Jive. He also works as a dancer, music video director and actor. He was born on May 5, 1989 in Tappahannock, Virginia, United States. Brown has also been associated with the musical acts of Bow Wow, Keshia Chante, LBK, Rihanna, Huey, Ne-Yo, Trey Songz, Juelz Santana, Lil Wayne, T-Pain and Jordin Sparks.

Throughout Brown's youth, he was influenced by the artists that his parents played at home on their family's radio. The singers that Brown was most influenced by included Michael Jackson and Sam Cooke. At the age of 2-years-old, Brown started dancing. Surprisingly, it was not until he was 11-years-old that Brown became aware of his own vocal talents. Before noticing these talents, Brown had wanted to become a rapper. However, it was not until he was 13-years-old that he was discovered by a local production team that just happened to have been visiting his father's gas station in search of new talent. Ever since then, he has moved to New York where he has began his recording career.

Late in 2005, Brown released his first studio album. His first single, which was entitled “Kiss Kiss,” was nominated for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards in the category for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Since this album was so successfully received and has since led to his second studio album, which was released worldwide in November 2007. The second album was also quite successful throughout the world. In fact, many people, including Brown himself, were actually quite surprised by just how successful both of these albums were. Thanks to the successes of these two albums, Brown is currently working on his third album.
