Foursquare Celebrates One Year Birthday

Social location site foursquare celebrated its one year birthday on Thursday.

Since its launch a year ago, the social site has shot up the rankings. According to their blog, the site now boasts over 500,000 users with over one million badges awarded.

The site lets users accumulate “badges” based on where they physically “check in”. Basically, through the service you can broadcast your whereabouts to a group of friends and earn extra points if you go somewhere cool. Or something like that!

Regardless of what you think, the site has registered over 15.5 million check-ins. Impressive.
