Google Makes Search Customizable Through SearchWiki

I just noticed a new Google feature just now while searching. Next to each search result are two icons, an “X” and an up arrow. Clicking the “X” removes the entry from your listing while hitting the up arrow promotes the entry.
This SearchWiki, as Google calls it, went live earlier today to select users who are logged into their Google account. In addition to removing and promoting listings, users are also able to leave comments and make additions.

On their blog, Google writes “the changes you make only affect your own searches” but one has to wonder how changes made by users, if any, will be used by the search engine.
